Sales girls turn their workplace into classroom in Thrissur
Thrissur: Anagha, a final year BSC student and Aswathi, a Plus One student, were forced to work as sales girls at Joy Hypermarket in Olari due to financial issues. When the online classes started, they were worried about how to manage their studies along with job. But the hypermarket owner MG Bijoy surprised the duo by allowing them to attend the online classes.
He allowed the students to take upto two hours break from duty for attending the online classes.
Hence, the students have been attending their classes online on the vacant space of the shop.
Though they are sales girls, Bijoy used to tell them to study after the classes and then only work. Anagha is a student at Elthuruth St. Aloysius College. Aswathy is studying at Arimbur Govt. High School.
Aswathy’s father, who was a car driver, went jobless following the COVID outbreak. Her mother is a housewife. Aswathy’s salary is the only income of the family who live in a rented house at Manakodi.
