Russell’s Viper snake found from farm with 40 hatchlings
Erode: A huge Russell’s viper snake and its 40 hatchlings were found from a private property in Anthiyur here the other day.
The snake and the hatchlings were spotted on the farm owned by Anthiyur native Chandramohan. First, he thought the snake was a python. Following this, he and neighbours put the snake in a drum and contacted the forest officials.
Later, the forest guards arrived at the place and identified the snake to be Russell’s viper. With this, they safely released it in a forest near the Varattu Pallam dam in Anthiyur.
