RTI 'finds' missing boat of Koodalmanikyam temple
Irinjalakkuda (Thrissur): When a boat dedicated to the temple by a devotee went missing, an RTI (Right to Information) notice came to the rescue of it. A boat that was donated to Koodalamanikyam temple by a devotee years ago was kept at Kuttankulam pond at the east entrance of the temple.
However, the boat went missing one day mysteriously. Nobody could trace the boat and find out who was responsible for the incident. Following this, a devotee filed an RTI asking the current status of the boat which was donated to the temple as an offering. He received a reply that it was anchored in Kuttankulam.
In fact, the boat was not seen in Kuttankulam at the time. This led to further discussions and the Devaswom board started an investigation. Thus it was found that the boat had submerged in Kuttankulam pond. Later, they took the boat from the pond with the help of labourers and anchored it on the shore.
