Rs 2.5 lakh worth bell dedicated to Guruvayur temple
Guruvayur: On the sixth day of the festival season in Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple, a devotee dedicated a Rs 2.5 lakh worth bell (Nazhika Mani) as an offering. A devotee from Chennai dedicated the bell to the temple. The presently existing bell in the temple is damaged due to age and will be replaced with the new bell.
The new bell is made in the same size and proportion of the old one. Sculptor Kizhakkumbattukara Subrahmanian made the bell under the supervision of Irinjalakkuda Nadavarambu Unni Menon. The 27-inch tall bell is built using 125 kg bronze.
The bell was dedicated to the temple prior to the Athazha puja rituals on Friday. Devaswom chairman K. B. Mohandas, Ooralan Mallissery Parameswaran Namboodirippad, administrative committee members, administrator S. V. Sisir and others attended the ceremony.
