Rice feeding ceremony for octogenarian; Aranmula temple witnesses rare moment
Kozhenchery (Pathanamthitta): A very rare rice feeding ceremony was held in front of the Lord Aranmula Parthasarathy the other day. Normally the rice feeding ceremony is conducted for feeding rice to small babies less than one year for the first time. But this time the ceremony was held for an octogenarian.
The rice feeding ceremony was conducted for Cherthala Varanadu native Raveendran Nair (83). Years ago, Raveendran Nair’s father had wished to conduct his rice feeding ceremony at Aranmula temple when he was a baby. But it could not be fulfilled due to certain circumstances.
Raveendran Nair shard this story with his children and grandchildren a few days back. Determined to fulfil their grandfather’s unaccomplished wish, the family held the ceremony on Monday morning. Raveendran Nair’s son Hareesh and daughter Renuka Devi fed him with rice and milk dessert. Other family members and grandchildren also attended the ceremony.
