Relatives in shock as ‘dead’ person comes back
Kollangod: The family of Krishnankutty were under utter shock, when the deceased ‘who had died 10 months back’ returned home on Sunday.
58-year-old Krishnankutty, hailing from Pallassana, had left home in 2013 just 10 days after his daughter’s marriage. Since then there was no communication with the family for the past two years.
A group of devotees from Pallassana found Krishnankutty at Pazhani. Coming to know about his ‘death and cremation’, he was shocked. The group took him back to Palllassana immediately.
Last November, a person named Krishnachandran of Meenkulathiyamman Kovil Street at Pallassana, was pronounced dead while under treatment at the Coimbatore government hospital. The police had come to Pallassana in search of the address but no one could identify the person in the photo.
Meanwhile, seeing the news and finding similarity in the address, Rajeswari, wife of Krishnankutty, went to the hospital. She informed the hospital authorities of a surgery mark and a birth mark on Krishnankutty’s body. Confirming these identification marks, the police and hospital authorities handed over the deceased’s body to Rajeswari. It was later cremated at Ivor Madom.
The question still remains on the real identity of the body cremated.
