Read this Obit from Kollam and you will know why it is going viral
Kollam: An obituary published in Mathrubhumi daily went viral after the names of the deceased person's children sounded quite weird. Following this, the obituary of Kollam Perinad native K Arjunan Achari (86) was widely circulated through social media highlighting the names of his three children - Electron, Proton and Neutron.
On knowing that the obit attracted attention, the eldest son Electron remembers how the three siblings were ridiculed at schools and colleges for their unique names. Adv Electron is a lawyer at Kollam Bar.
'As there is no other lawyer in this name, people will never forget once I introduce myself,' Electron pointed out the benefit of having a different name.
Father might have given us these names thinking we should stay united like an atom always. He also wanted that one should not be able to identify our religion on hearing the name, he added.
Our father was very keen in science subjects. He was part of the paramilitary force General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF). He also obtained degree from there. He was in Libya for 10 years while he was on deputation in Border Road Organisation. He travelled to different parts of the world. After retirement, he remained at home with farming and spirituality for the rest of his life, Electron said.
As the obit was circulated due to the curious names, many people came to know about the death and contacted the family. Among the children, Neutron is in Dubai and could not come home due to Covid situation.
