Alappuzha: A rare migratory bird has been found in Changarampadam in Cherthala here. The pinkish white bird has been identified as a Lesser Flamingo.
Ratheesh Rajan, a police officer, who is also a birdwatcher, noticed the bird in Changarampadam the other day. The bird is commonly found in North Asian region and is rarely found in Kerala, Ratheesh said.
When the picture of the bird was sent to birdwatchers, they identified it to be Lesser Flamingo. They added that the bird had visited Ancharakandy in Kannur last year.
