Radhamani sets up a vegetable farm on terrace, ensures an organic Onam feast
Thalayolaparambu: A homemaker decided that she would prepare Onam sadya for her family this year using pesticide-free vegetables, and she is all set to reap the harvest.
Kalappuraparambil Radharani started farming on her terrace under rain shelter only a year ago. There is hardly any vegetable that cannot be found in Radharani's farm. She has grown tomato, okra, beans, bitter gourd, chilli, brinjal, coriander, capsicum, peppermint, cabbage, corn, celery etc. Neem cake, cow dung, and bone meal are used as manure.
She has taken up farming on 100 square metres with assistance from Velloor Krishibhavan. Husband Radhakrishnan and children Rahul and Rohith are giving her all support.
