Kayamkulam: UDF candidate Aritha Babu’s parents were waiting on the national highway in Krishnapuram to watch the roadshow of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. By the time, they received a call from Aritha saying Priyanka has arrived home.

They had locked the house before leaving. So, Priyanka Gandhi had to wait about 10 minutes in the sit out along with the crowd and the security personnel. Aritha’s father Thulaseedharan, who has been a Congress worker since an early age, was all excited to see Priyanka visit his residence.

AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi arrived at Krishnapuram on Tuesday afternoon. Priyanka had already inquired about Aritha’s family. When the roadshow reached Kamalalayam junction, Aritha said that her house is near the place. Immediately, Priyanka’s vehicle travelled 2 kilometres to visit her house.

But they found the house locked. As soon as Aritha called, her parents came back in another vehicle. All of them entered the house and spent some time in the hall. They also clicked a selfie before leaving.

The security guards struggled to control the people who gathered there to meet Priyanka on the way. Though Priyanka was planning to take scooter ride with Aritha to join the road show, the security personnel and party leaders discouraged her.
