New Delhi: Ramya Haridas, the newly elected MP from Alathur parliamentary constituency is making headlines day-by-day. Now, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi appreciated her as a talented leader through a video on her Facebook page.
The video portrays Ramya’s journey to Indian Parliament. Ramya, daughter of a daily wage worker from Kerala, started her career as a trainer in a local NGO with a monthly income of Rs 600.
Rahul Gandhi met Ramya through a talent search programme in 2011. Following this historic meet, she was elected as the national office-bearer of Indian Youth Congress and worked diligently for the party.
The video also noted Rahul Gandhi’s bold decision to field Ramya in Alathur seat by rejecting the advice of his colleagues and other party men.
Ramya is the only woman parliamentarian from Kerala today and we are proud of her, Priyanka Gandhi noted in the video.
