Venjaramoodu: Police dog Sara, ran 2.5 km in search of accused Anil Kumar who murdered Pothencode native Radhakrishnan.
Sara ran through the public road after sniffing the machete that was used for murder. Police officers Vishnu Shankar and Dhanesh GA, who are part of the dog squad, were present along with Sara. After reaching Anil Kumar’s house at Mailadumukal, Sara found his blood stained dhoti from underneath his bed. His shirt was also found from the house. Sara brought both these pieces of evidence outside the house and submitted before the officers. The accused who was under observation until then, was arrested after this.
Sara is a tracker dog of Venjaramoodu dog squad. She was brought from Gwalior and has received training from BSF. One of Sara’s parents is a security dog at the Parliament building. Its siblings are part of Kerala Police’s dog squad. This happens to be the first case that Sara has worked after joining Venjaramoodu dog squad.
She has been recommended for a police reward.
