Police make lockdown violators write imposition in Kozhikode
Vadakara: Instead of thrashing, Kozhikode Rural District Police tries a different method of punishment for those who violate the lockdown norms. The police made the people write imposition for going outside ignoring the coronavirus preventive measures.
About 100 people had to write imposition in rural district area on Friday. Earlier, complaints arose that the police action against the people who violated lockdown norms were brutal. Following this, the police thought of a different but useful method to punish the rule violators.
Rural SP Dr M Sreenivas suggested imposition as an alternative for the normal punishments. The police implemented the new punishment from Friday onwards. Those who violated the lockdown norms were taken to the police station and made to write the imposition.
The people were asked to write the sentence 'I will not step out of house for 21 days 21 times. A total of 15 persons had to write imposition in Vadakara police station alone. The officers hope that effectiveness of the new punishment can be known in a few days.
