Police honour newlywed couple for following COVID protocol at wedding
Kozhikode: Mukkam police honoured a bride and groom for strictly following COVID protocol during their wedding. The bride and groom named Harsha and Amith Chandran, received a letter of appreciation from rural district police chief Dr A Sreenivas.
Mukkam SI Jane handed over the certificate to the newly married couple at their residence. Amith Chandran, son of Vellangottu Chandran in Mukkam, and Harsha, daughter of GT Subrahmanian from Peruvayal, turned stars after receiving an unexpected honour from the police.
Though their families planned to conduct the wedding in May 2020, it was extended due to the lockdown. A few months ago, the family rescheduled the wedding for April 29.
But as the authority imposed new restrictions amid the second wave, both families decided to conduct the wedding as per the COVID protocol. Considering the growing concern of the pandemic, the families informed their guests not to attend the wedding.
“The couple wished to have a grand wedding with a huge number of people. But they an example for all by following the COVID protocol at the wedding,” said Mukkam SI Jain.
