Police asks man who violated lockdown to advise 25 people over phone
Kochi: Huge criticism had arisen against the police action like frog jumping and beating the people who violated lockdown norms recently. Amid this, Thrikkakkara police took a different step by giving harmless but useful punishment for a young man who went out unnecessarily. He was asked to advise 25 of his friends through the phone not to go out during lockdown.
The video of the man calling his friends in the middle of a group of police officers has gone viral on social media. The police team headed by Thrikkakkara SI spotted the man at Kangarappadi junction in Ernakulam. As he admitted that he committed a mistake, the police decided to give him an ideal punishment that would be an eye opener for others who violate the norms.
Following this, the police asked the man to call up 25 friends over phone and make them aware of the importance of lockdown in order to release him without charging any case. Also he was asked to put the call on loudspeaker mode in front of the officers.
Thus the man called his family members, relatives and friends and talked about the importance of lockdown. The video was widely circulated.
