Peacocks intrude into newly built house as owners fail to occupy amid lockdown
Tirur: A peacock flock turned regular visitors at the newly constructed house here as the owners failed to occupy it, amid the lockdown. The house owners were unable to conduct the house warming ceremony due to lockdown restrictions amid COVID-19 outbreak.
As lockdown restrictions forced people to stay indoors, the peacocks found their undisturbed playground here.
The house is owned by Vettam AUP School teacher Mini and her husband ex-military officer Jayaprakash. The house is situated near Panchami school here.
After completing the construction, the couple decided to hold house warming ceremony in April first week. The government imposed nationwide lockdown after the couple invited their friends and families for the function. The function was then postponed.
Mini and husband make frequent visits to the house. One day, they noticed the flock of peacocks roaming around the house and premises. After realizing that the birds are regular visitors here, the couple now brings wheat to feed them.
The couple never disturbed the peacocks which occupied their place. Whenever Mini and husband arrive here, the peacocks dance and welcome them with their mesmerising beauty.
