Painted mango offered to temple as tribute to Karunanidhi
Marayur: A hardcore devotee of late DMK leader M. Karunanidhi offered a mango to the temple on which a picture of the leader was drawn. He also wrote a prayer in Tamil which read ‘Ezhunthu vaa Thalaiva’ (Please wake up leader) on the mango.
UMT Raja, an artist from Kuthiyampathur village near the state border, drew the picture on the mango as a tribute to the leader. He used a mango grown from his house compound. Raja is a well-known artist in Tamil Nadu.
Karunanidhi, who worked hard for the welfare of the backward communities, named both the daughters of Raja. He gave the names Kavya Tamizh and Abhinava Tamizh to Raja’s daughters.
