Out of sheer love for Bullet bikes, man makes replica in teak wood
Nilambur (Malappuram): Hailing from the land of teak forests, a young man has made a wooden Bullet bike using teak. Karulayi Kalam native Jithin designed and carved the bike in teakwood out of his intense passion for Bullets.
An electrician by profession, Jithin took two years to complete the Bullet. He used his leisure time for this work. The tyres of the bike are made of Malaysian wood and rosewood was used for making the fuel tank. All other parts were made of pure teakwood.
Jithin worked abroad for about five years and returned with equipment for making the Bullet. He also bought a Bullet and modelled it for making the wooden replica. Seven years ago, Jithin had made a mini wooden Bullet. Since then, he was planning to make a real size Bullet. He even cut down two teak trees in his house.
Jithin completed the entire works of the Bullet all by himself. He said that by the time it was completed, the expense of the wooden Bullet nearly touched the price of a real Bullet. He has kept the wooden Bullet with his original Bullet. People arrive in flocks to Jithin’s house to see the wooden Bullet.
