One-and-half-yr-old falls from speeding jeep in Idukki; Parents unaware
Idukki: In a bizarre incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl fell from a jeep that was travelling through the forest and had a miraculous escape. The child crawled to the forest office later. The incident happened at Rajamala in Idukki on Sunday night. Parents didn’t know the child had fallen on road.
Forest officials who found the girl on the road handed over the baby to police. Parents learned about the missing child only after reaching Kambilikandam, a distance of 50 kms from the check post point. Soon, they filed a complaint with Vellathuval police.
Fortunately, the child fell near the forest check post and the staff on duty were present at the time of incident. The baby saved itself from wild animals and speeding vehicles on the road. Parents, natives of Kambilikandam in Idukki, were returning home on Sunday after visiting the Palani temple.
The child sustained minor injuries and was handed over to the parents the next day morning after providing medical treatment.
Police said, the child was sitting on the lap of her mother on the rear seat of the jeep. Due to fatigue and tiredness from the long journey, the mother might have fallen asleep and lost the child.
