Newspaper distributor, librarian, student, teacher... Megha plays multiple roles in life
Ambalapuzha: Megha’s day starts at 5.30 am every day as a ‘newspaper girl’. She distributes Mathrubhumi newspaper in her locality. After one and a half hours of paper distribution, she does her daily sports training. Then she rushes to her college before 9.30 am.
In the evening, she plays the role of a librarian in Punthala Yuvavedi library for two hours. By the time she returns, her tuition students will be waiting at home for her. After the tuition, she has to help her mother with the household chores and then studies.
Megha is now a final year BSc Zoology student in Alappuzha SD college. She joined SD college after completing Plus Two with full A+ from Purakkad SNM Higher Secondary school. She is also good at co-curricular activities. She is an active participant in NCC, college cricket and Kabbadi teams and other sports.
Megha, her grandparents, parents and brother live in ‘Illathupurayidam’, a rented room near Purakkad Puthan Nadayil highway. Her father Prasad is a painter and mother Lisha is a daily wage worker.
All they have is the three-cent property where their house is located. One cent of the plot will be taken away for the highway expansion. Their rented house will also go in that. Megha aspires to be a nurse in Army. She is also preparing for Military police exams.
