Meet this policeman who keeps capturing beauty of the wild
Perumanna (Kozhikode): Amid the hectic life as a police officer, Shaheer Perumanna finds time to capture beautiful wildlife photographs too. The 33-year-old has travelled in several forests within and outside the state to click rare pictures from the wild. He is a civil police officer in Kozhikode City Crime Squad.
Shaheer has been active in nature club activities since his school days. He joined as civil police officer in 2010. But he did not drop his passion and continued visiting forests to take pictures. He shares his pictures through social media platforms and has many fans.
Shaheer has already captured wildlife photographs from Muthanga, Nelliyampathy, Thattekkad, Mavoor, Kalpally and Mananthalakkadavu. He said that he could easily click some rare pictures which many photographers wait for a long time to capture and it was a great blessing.
The photo of Indian Roller bird, the official bird of Karnataka, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, was clicked from Kalpally unexpectedly like this. The photographer shared his experience of the journey to Kalpally in the latest edition of ‘Mathrubhumi Yathra’.
Shaheer's aim is to capture a picture of a black panther and is trying to find one. “Though I have visited forests many times for this, I could not capture a picture yet,” he said. Shaheer has full support from his family too.
