Pulamanthole (Malappuram): Thirunarayanapuram native Sagu Rafeeq bagged first prize in the wildlife photography contest conducted by Alappuzha Natural History Society (ANHS).
Sagu won the prize by capturing a picture of Legge's hawk-eagle that flies carrying its prey, a Bengal monitor lizard. The photo was clicked at Nelliyampathy forest area.
135 photographers had participated in the contest and 375 entries were considered.
Sagu Rafeeq is member of many associations of photographers such as Wonders of Wild, Light Source and AKPA.
The 34-year-old photographer has won many other honours in wildlife photography.
