KSRTC bus returns 5 km in search of passenger!
Kannur: A KSRTC bus drove back five kilometres in search of a passenger. The incident happened a week back. When the Super Express bus from Bangalore to Kannur via Mysore, Virajpet, Iritty and Koothuparamba reached Iritty, someone waiting for the bus in the stop asked if it would go through Echoor. The conductor replied no.
When they reached the place called Uliyil, the conductor received a call from his higher authority enquiring why he didn’t board a passenger. A complaint was received that a passenger and his companions were not able to board the bus. The official directed to immediately return and pick the passenger. The conductor asked the driver to return inorder to avoid further problems.
The passengers in the bus wanted to know the reason for the sudden return. The driver and conductor kept silent. They went straight to the Iritty stand but no passengers were seen to board the bus. The bus restarted its journey after the conductor reported to the higher official that the passenger was present.
The conductor says someone had enquired if the bus would go to Echoor. Sometimes, the angry passenger would have misled the higher authorities and launched a complaint. The employees are irked over the action of the higher official who directed them to take the bus back and search for the passenger even though they knew the bus would not go through Echoor. Who deceived the higher officials is unknown.
