Keeping traditions, ‘thiruvonathoni’ reaches Aranmula carrying sadya for Lord Parthasarathy
Aranmula: Keeping the traditions unchanged, this year also a grand ‘onasadya’ was served to Lord Vishnu, deity at the Parthasarathy temple in Aranmula during Onam. ‘Thiruvonathoni’ reached Aranmula Parthasarathy temple with provisions for the Onam feast. The ceremonial boat led by Kattoor Bhattathiri was given a huge welcome at the temple ghat by Devaswom board president A Padmakumar, other temple authorities and devotees.
The thiruvonathoni accompanied by 51 boats also carried a burning lamp. Bhattithiri handed over the lamp to the chief priest and he lighted the lamp at the temple. This lamp will be burning at the temple for the next year.
Following that the items brought for meal was dedicated to the deity. Sadya followed and had a huge participation of devotees. After praying and paying offerings at the temple, Bhattathiri returned to Kumranallur by road.
