Kanhangad natives taken by surprise as sea waves bring live fish to the shore, watch video
Kasaragod: Leaving people in bewilderment, sea waves dumped loads of fish in Kanhangad beach. When each wave leaves the shore, fresh sardine fish varieties were left over the shore on a stretch of four kilometres.
People in the coastal villages of Chittari and Ajanoor were surprised to see that the large number of fish dumped on the shore was alive. Without any second thought they rushed to the spot with vessels to collect the fish.
In Chittari, the sardines were strewn across a stretch of four kilometres from the estuary to Chettukundu. At the same time, large number of fish flowed to the shore on a stretch of two kilometres in Ajanoor. The rare phenomenon was spotted in isolated places on Friday morning around 8.
Within an hour, loads of fish were found dumped on the shore. Usually, dead fish are dump on the shore. But this time, live sardines were scattered all around when waves lashed the shore.
It is reported that the phenomenon continued for more than 45 minutes. Apart from the natives, people from other villages also rushed to the beach to collect the sardines.
Compared to Ajanoor, sea waves showered large number of sardines in Chittari.
“Many boats have left the shore for fishing towards the north of the sea. Sea waves during this time have dumped huge quantity of fish on the shore,” said the fishermen.
