Hinting water scarcity, colourful plastic pots from TN flow to Kerala
Kollam: As the state is experiencing an intense summer and remains on the verge of drought, plastic pot sale has begun in various places hinting water scarcity in the coming days. It is reported that vendors from Tamil Nadu are selling plastic pots in Thenmla and Aaryankavu regions here.
Two wheelers carrying plastic pots in different colours became a regular scene in many villages here. The vendors target remote villages in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border where people often face water scarcity in summer.
Plastic pots cost from Rs 45 to Rs 85. The vendors can easily find market in these areas as the public used to purchase plastic pots to store water during summer.
Though there is no restriction to bring plastic products from Tamil Nadu to Kerala, transportation of plastic as scrap from another state is strictly restricted in Tamil Nadu.
