Happy days for Kannan, Skandan: Karkidakam wellness treatment begins
Haripad: Komban Skandan of Harippad Subramanya Swamy Temple and Komban Kannan of Evoor Sri Krishnaswamy Temple started wellness treatment as part of the Karkidakam month.
Rice, wheat, green beans, peas, salt, turmeric powder and ayurvedic medicines are included in the elephant's diet during the treatment period.
Skandan has been showing its angry nature (musth) for the last four months. Although musth isn't over, there were signs of indigestion-related disorders for him. Devaswom Board Veterinary Surgeon Dr Shashindradev said that musth had stopped after the specific treatment was initiated. With this improvement, the wellness treatment started.
Harippad Group Assistant Commissioner Sunil Kumar gave Kannan the rice pudding containing medications as part of the treatment. Devaswom Special Grade Officer Rajasree and other representatives were present.
