Governor’s wife tastes ada pradhaman and watches pookalam contest
Thiruvananthapuram: The new governor of Kerala Arif Mohammad Khan’s wife Reshma Arif took part in the Onam celebrations by tasting ada pradhaman and looking at the way the pookalam or the floral carpet was arranged. The Governor’s wife was here to inaugurate the floral carpet contest at St Joseph school organised by the Tourism Department as part of the Onam festivities. The governor’s wife watched the contestants arrange the floral carpet and asked about the way it is arranged. This is the first public programme of the Governor’s wife in Kerala.
The pookalam contest was jointly inaugurated by Reshma Arif, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s wife Kamala and minister Kadakampally Surendran’s wife Sulekha. The guests came to the function dressed in Kerala saree and was welcomed by chendamelam. The function organised at the school auditorium witnessed as many as 30 contestants.
