Elderly folk singer robbed; loses music box gifted by Mohanlal
Thodupuzha: In a shocking incident, an elderly street singer was robbed in daylight in Thodpuzha. The robber stole a music box which the singer has been keeping as a treasure and tool for his livelihood.
Muhammad Gasni, the singer is unable to perform on the streets after losing his music box. Hence, the poor man is struggling to earn money to look after his family.
For him, the music box was his life and the only companion who supported him to continue his livelihood.
Muhammad Gasni had become on social media with his melodious voice.
Gasni lost his music box which included a codeless mike, speaker and charger. Somebody stole it from a bus stop in Thodupuzha.
The 69-year-old man got the music box as a gift from superstar Mohanlal. Producer Antony Perumbavoor had purchased the music box for Gasni as directed by the actor.
Gasni reached Thodpuzha last week. While waiting for bus to Muvattupuzha at a bus stop in front of the civil station, he fell asleep as he was too tired. When he woke up, he found his music box was missing.
“Realising my grief, a group of kind-hearted autorickshaw drivers purchased a new mike and speaker for me. But that mike and speaker are not suitable for singing on the streets. I have lodged a complaint with Thodupuzha police over the missing music box,” said Gasni.
Gasni revealed the news on his missing music box through the Facebook page of social activist Manoj Kokkattu.
At present, he is settled in Wayanad with family.
