Cyclist from Kottayam covers 300 km within 14 hrs
Kottayam: Shelly Joseph, a native of Peruva here, has won the cycling competition covering 300 kilometres within 14 hours. Audax India organised the cycling competition in Thiruvananthapuram region. As per the rule of the competition, the participants were asked to cover 300 km within 20 hours.
He completed the ride by travelling from Kayamkulam to Kovalam and back. After reaching Kovalam, he took a ride to Alappuzha via Kayamkulam and returned to Kayamkulam within 14 hours. A total of 50 cyclists took part in the competition. 40 participants completed the ride within 20 hours.
Shelly, a businessman by profession, took a cycle ride from Vyttila to Dhanush Kodi by covering 500 km in 4 days.
He is son of Peruva Nedumattathil late Joseph and late Molly. His family includes wife Sophiya and two children Milan Elizabeth and Shone Joseph.
