Palakkad: A 4-year-old girl child was taken to the police station by the bus conductor after she was left behind on the bus. The parents, in an auto chased the bus for 15 kms to Alathur. Once they knew about the child’s location they travelled 21 kms to Puthunagaram Police station and received the child.
The parents forgot the child on the ‘Amma’ bus which take service in the Kozhinjampara-Thrisur route. They alighted at Koduvayoor without the child. The bus had left by when they realised the child was not with them.
Meanwhile, the conductor in the bus heard the child’s cry and enquired about it. As the parents were not seen, he took her to the Puthunagaram police station. A woman police officer in casual dress asked the child about her whereabouts and later informed the matter through wireless.
At the same time the parents followed the bus to Alathur. Knowing that the child was taken to Puthunagaram police station, they reached there and took the child home.
The incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, had by then gone viral on social media. Messages, asking for identification of the child and related, were shared even late at night.
