Thiruvananthapuram: A painting by Ernakulam native Akhil CJ has been selected as this year’s children’s day stamp. Akhil secured this achievement by bringing in COVID prevention activities in his canvas.

Akhil’s painting has been selected from the 1,296 entries submitted by different schools across the state. Akhil is a class 12 student of Thrissur St Anne's Higher Secondary School. The best painting was selected by the Lalithakala Academy chairman, Nemom Pushparaj.

Akhil is the son of Thuruthippuram native CP Joseph and CP Lourdh Maria, who is a teacher at Kodungallur Government LP school. His brother Abhishek is a third-year graduate student in Ernakulam St Albert’s college.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will release the stamp online on November 14 during the Children’s Day celebration in Thiruvananthapuram.
