Carving pictures on leaves, Mahesh finds place in Asia Book of Records
Kanathur (Kasaragod): Creating art on leaves, a young man found his name in Asia book of Records. Kanathur native P T Mahesh carved beautiful pictures on the leaves of different trees and finally found his name on both India Book of Records and Asian Book of Records.
The 24-year-old started by carving names on plastic bottles during the lockdown period. As his friends and family encouraged, he switched to leaf art. World leaders, movie stars, singers, politicians, heritage centres, wonders of world and many images were created on leaves.
It was Kanathur native Nandana Chandran who told Mahesh about India Book of Records and Asian Book of Records. Mahesh contacted them immediately and submitted his works via online. He also showed the expert committee the making of leaf art via live. He created 27 heritage centres in India on leaves.
A mechanical engineering graduate, Mahesh is planning to go for higher studies. He is son of Kanathur native T Narayanan and Omana. Nayanadevi and Rajina are his sisters.
