Ponkunnam: In a bizarre incident at Ponnkunnam, a lady conductor was let behind and the KSRTC bus plied for about 2.5 kilometres. The lady conductor took another fast passenger and boarded own bus.
The limited stop KSRTC bus running on the Mundakayam-Changanassery route left the conductor behind and left the depot.
The incident happened on Wednesday at about 11.20 in the morning at the Ponkunnam bus stand when the conductor alighted from the bus to record the time. Meanwhile, one of the passenger happened to mistakenly pull the string of the bell and the driver thought the conductor gave the green signal and started the bus.
It was only after 5 minutes the driver realised the bus was running without the conductor. The bus had by then reached 18th Mile and did not return but waited on the way.
