Baby goat trapped between concrete rings of well, rescued after 17 hours
Nilambur: A baby goat that got trapped between the concrete rings of a well for more than 17 hours was finally rescued after one-hour long effort by the fire force personnel. The three-month kid is owned by Nilambur Chakkalakuthu native Muhammed.
The incident took place on the vacant compound near Kuthirappuzha bridge at Chakkalakuthu. The 40-feet deep well was built and the rings were fixed around it. But the gap between the rings and the soil was not filled with soil. The goat fell through this gap.
The owner searched for the goat and found it stuck in the gap on Monday. He informed the fire station in Nilambur. Though the fire force personnel tried to enter into the gap to save the kid, the gap was too narrow for them.
Later, they brought an excavator and tried to level the sides of the well. But the baby goat could not be rescued. Finally, station officer M. Abdul Gafoor fastened a rope and moved in a slanted position and rescued the kid.
