Baby born in London-Kochi Air lndia flight clears procedures to fly back Kerala
Frankfurt: Indian Consulate in Germany has issued an emergency certificate to Shawn, baby born to a Malayali woman while she and her family was travelling in London-Kochi Air India flight. The certificate allows the baby along with the family to have a journey to India. Reportedly, once other travel related procedures are completed then they can fly back to India.
It was on October 5 that a seven-month pregnant Kerala woman gave birth to a healthy baby onboard Air India flight from London to Kochi. The woman is Maria Philip, a native of Pathanamthitta. The incident happened in the night flight which departed from London. No sooner than the flight took off, the woman experienced labour pain. The cabin crew members, two doctors and four nurses in the flight aided the woman. To provide immediate medical care to mother and baby, the flight was landed in the nearby Frankfurt airport. Necessary arrangements were made in the airport as cabin alerted them in advance. Soon after the flight landed, mother and baby were taken to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the information about the issual of emergency certificate has been shared on the official social media pages of India in Germany (Consulate General of India, Frankfurt). They have conveyed the warmth wishes to the family.
