Award-winning photographer turns buffalo seller after COVID-19 outbreak
Tirur: Arif Iris is a popular photographer in Malappuram district. He is a recipient of many awards in photography field. But now, he has turned a buffalo seller as COVID-19 outbreak affected his job as a photographer.
Arif, who is an event planner, has been running a studio here. The COVID-19 outbreak shattered the event management sector as well as photography. Many wedding photographers who purchased camera after taking loan are in trouble as weddings were postponed due to the pandemic.
Now, they are struggling to repay their loans. Many photographers closed their studios due to the financial crisis.
But Arif was not ready to give up. He decided to opt a new profession along with photography. Finally, he turned into a buffalo seller and found a new livelihood. He purchases calves from various places and rears them for sale. Now, Arif is happy as his new business is profitable.
“First, I purchased 12 calves as advised by my relative Abdul Rasheed. Later, I found it as a profitable business,” said Arif. He is of the opinion that everyone can be successful if they are confident and ready to work hard.
Arif, a native of Niramaruthoor, is the son of late Aboobacker Haji and Zubaida. He has been working as a wedding photographer for 22 years. He is also a founder of a youth cycling club of 200 members in Tirur
