ATM gives out Rs 10,000 instead of Rs 500; Anganwadi teacher returns cash
Pala: An Anganavadi teacher was surprised when she received Rs. 10,000 from an ATM after she requested only Rs 500. However, she became a role model to others by returning the amount to the authorities concerned.
Lissy Kattakath is a teacher at Veranel ‘Anganvadi’ in Karur panchayat. The incident happened on Thursday when she tried to withdraw money from an SBI ATM near Pala civil station.
Lisy informed George Nadayath, a member of block panchayat, immediately after she got out of the ATM.
When the SBI authorities reached the spot, the were reluctant to take the remaining amount from her. They insisted that she took the money to the bank itself.
However, following protests from the block member and people from near the area, they accepted the cash from from Lisy and gave her the receipt.
