At 24, Ananthu becomes millionaire after winning Rs 12 cr as Thiruvonam Bumper lottery first prize
Kochi: Ananthu Vijayan from Idukki is all surprised to know that he has become a millionaire at the age of 24. He won the first prize worth Rs 12 crore of Thiruvonam Bumper lottery of the state government. As soon as knowing the result of the lottery, Ananthu sought advice from the lottery agency.
He was confused as the ticket could not be handed over to the bank authorities as the draw was held on Sunday. However, he talked to bank manager and was informed that the ticket can be kept in locker though it is bank holiday.
Ananthu buys lottery ticket only rarely. He remembered the date of draw and checked the results by evening. He informed his parents of the news of hitting jackpot. Ananthu's family consists of his parents and an elder sister.
The winning ticket was sold from Vighneswara agency in Ernakulam. Retail seller Alakaswami from Tamil Nadu collected the ticket from the agency. On knowing the result, he arrived at the lottery office in Kacheripadi to be part of the celebration.
The agency staff welcomed Alakaswami by offering him sweets. Alakaswami had no idea who bought the ticket from him. He sells ticket in Kadavanthra junction.
