At 107, Sara Ummal starts learning computer with full energy
Pazhakulam (Pathanamthitta): Putting aside the age old concept of relaxing, Sara Ummal decided to learn computer skills at the age of 107. She started practicing with keyboard and mouse at Swaraj Library at Mettumpuram here on Vijayadashami day.
Earlier, she had started learning Malayalam at the same library at the age of 96.
Sara Ummal said that she wanted to learn English in addition to Malayalam and that is why she decided to learn computer. She had taken part in many examinations of the Literacy Mission under the supervision of the library. Poet and executive member of Library Council, Adoor taluk unit, Vinod Mulambuzha is the computer teacher of Sara Ummal.
Despite her age, Sara Ummal had quickly learnt Malayalam letters and we hope that she would soon learn computer skills too, said the library authorities.
High speed cartoonist G Jithesh inaugurated the online learning session. Library president S Meera Sahib, Sarin Ismail, Murali Kudassanadu, Anvar Shah and Saleena also attended the event.
