Assam man raises prayer call in Thodupuzha mosque
Thodupuzha: Faith cannot be limited to borders and languages. The Islamic call for prayer raised in the Central Juma Masjid here proves that belief unites everyone. It is Assam native Abdu Rahim who raise the prayer call in the mosque.
Abdu Rahim was appointed as the Mu'adhdhin (the religious official who raise prayer call five times a day) of Central Juma Masjid five years ago.
Earlier, he was the Mu'adhdhin of a mosque in Paravoor and Ustad Abdul Rasheed from Central Juma Masjid invited him to this mosque.
The believers in the region proved that no language and border can be a barrier for faith and fraternity. Abdu Rahim was warmly welcomed by the people. He has now learned to speak Malayalam. The people said that Abdu Rahim’s call for prayer in Urdu style is really appealing.
Abdu Rahim’s wife Moyful and son Mohammed Mashood also were with him in Thodupuzha. Now they have returned to their native place. Abdu Rahim visits his native land once in six months.
