After 35 years of waiting, woman loses govt job due to laxity of postal dept
Aikkarappadi (Malappuram): Due to the laxity of postal department, a woman lost a government job that she was waiting for the past 35 years. She received the call letter for the job interview four days after the date. Sainaba, wife of Aikkarappadi native Abdul Nasser, lost the job.
Sainaba had registered in Malappuram employment exchange in 1984. She was considered for part-time sweeper post in health department as per the seniority list of 1988. The interview for the part-time sweeper posts in various government hospitals was scheduled for July 15.
The registered post that was sent from Malappuram DMO office on July 3 had reached Aikkarappadi post office on July 5. But they handed over the post to Sainaba only on July 19 when she went to the post office for some other purpose.
It is alleged that the postal department did not deliver the letter on time though Sainaba was present at the place. She works as an Anganwadi worker near her residence.
Sainaba contacted District Medical Office and District Employment Exchange, but in vain. Now 51 years old, Sainaba lost her last chance to get a government job. She is planning to approach the court seeking justice.
