Iritty (Kannur): When he peeped through the window pane of the hotel to have a glance at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, 7-year-old Advaith never thought he would be invited to the airport and enter the flight. The little boy feels everything as a dream.
A class 3 student, Advaith got acquainted with Rahul Gandhi during his roadshow in Iritty as part of election campaign for UDF candidate Sunny Joseph. On returning, Rahul went to a tea stall on the way. As Advaith looked at him through the window, Rahul called him and bought him a falooda.
Rahul asked him about his ambition and Advaith replied in Hindi that he wants to become a pilot. Impressed with his smartness, Rahul clicked a photo with the boy and asked his companions to collect the number of his parents. By the time, Advaith had left with his father. But nobody knew his name or details. Mathrubhumi published a report on Sunday on the boy who impressed the Wayanad MP.
Following this, the boy was identified. As soon as Advaith’s number was received, Rahul called him and invited him to Kozhikode airport. When the boy reached with family, he was invited to the flight. The lady pilot showed him the operations of the flight. After some time, Rahul Gandhi also reached and explained the functions of the flight equipment.
Rahul invited Advaith and his parents to Thiruvananthapuram in his chartered flight. However, Advaith’s father P Suresh Kumar, a teacher, and mother Suvarna, a staff of Kannur University, had polling duty and declined the offer politely. Advaith learnt Hindi from his grandfather P Chanthu, who was a senior official in the military. Advaith studies in SDA Public School in Keezhoor.
