Kozhikode: Aadarsh, an eighth standard student of Valayam Govt. Higher Secondary school, is an ambitious boy who wish to be successful scoring good marks. But he is struggling with limited facilities in his house.
When the government claims on development and electrification across the state, Aadarsh’s house does not have electricity connection.
Aadarsh is forced to study in the light of a kerosene lamp after his school time. Being a studious student, he is not ready to give up his education amidst the challenges.
His father Chandran is bedridden following a bone-related disease. When his father became bedridden, the family started to struggle to meet the livelihood.
His mother works as a daily wage labourer to meet the huge expenses of the family.
Aadarsh and his family, including father, mother and grandmother, have been living in a house which was constructed under EMS housing project. But the construction of the house is not yet complete. Concrete work, electrical wiring and plumping works are not completed.
The family needs Rs 20,000 to complete the electrical wiring works. Hence, they are unable to apply for electricity connection.
As Aadarsh’s family will not able to meet the expenses of wiring, they sought the help of panchayat to get electricity connection by completing the works.
