A new gen wedding amid COVID; neighbours watch reception, have feast in their households
Thrissur: A young couple entered wedlock strictly following COVID protocol, but not compromising on the celebrations. Only less than 40 people attended the ceremony. However, the function that was organised in Moozhikkulam here was watched live by around 150 families in their neighbourhood. They also took part of the grand feast arranged as part of the event, but staying in their households.
Moozhikkulam Sala founder T R Premkumar took a different path to arrange the wedding reception of his son Vivek and Coimbatore native Nisha. As the COVID restrictions still exist, he could not include the neighbour among the guests. However, he came up with a unique solution for this.
A promoter of carbon-neutral foods, Premkumar sent gift packs to the houses in the neighbourhood. The packet included orange, guava, apple, Kadali banana, cashew nut, almond, pistachio, vegetable seeds, finger millet balls, carbon neutral kitchen handbook and lily flowers made of areca nut leaf.
A picture of the couple was pasted on the lid of the paper-made gift box and also a QR code. Those who want to watch the function can scan the code and watch it on their mobile phone. Prem Kumar and wife Sudhamani directly delivered the gift boxes to neighbours in Moozhikkulam area.
