A broken wing, a spinal cord injury; Vets treat traumatic injury with love and care in Mannarkad
Mannarkad: Forest officials at Mannarkad turned saviours for an injured owl and wildcat on Monday. The doctors at veterinary poly clinic assured treatment to the two creatures. The owl had a broken wing and the wild cat sustained an injury on spinal cord after meeting with a road accident.
The wildcat is in a critical condition and its hind legs have been completely paralysed.
‘The wildcat got a serious injury on its spinal cord in the accident,” said senior veterinary surgeon Dr Shaji Panickassery.
Doctors Krishna Das, Nimmi, Rahul and P Ajith also accompanied him.
The owl which suffered wing fracture underwent infra-red therapy and the doctors bandaged its wing.
The doctors informed that the owl and wildcat need treat for a few days more.
