93-yr-old woman reaches police station in ambulance seeking help in property dispute case
Kannur: For 93-year old Pathumma from Kannur’s Kottali, visiting court, tribune and collectorate over an unsettled property dispute case has become an ordeal. On Friday, the aged woman along with her daughters Jameela, Kunjaamina and other relatives reached the Town police station in an ambulance hoping that there will be some way to settle this dispute.
However, their efforts went in vain as the police informed them that they can not intervene in a civil case other than executing the court order. The ailing lady and others who accompanied her were forced to leave the police station without any relief.
The alleged issue is that Jameela’s daughter Saajidha and her husband Aksar is denying Pathumma and Jameela from entering the house. Meanwhile, Aksar has made some counter-allegations.
"The major issue is that they are not willing to give 4.5 cents of the land promised to Saajidha. And if we let off this house, the family including four kids will be homeless,” he said.
According to the police the family cannot be forcefully evicted as there are kids in the house.
Police have visited the place multiple times as a part of the investigation and claimed that only an amicable settlement with an intervention of middlemen will solve the issue.
