Paravur: A huge cake with a length of 101 feet and 824 kg was prepared as part of the birth anniversary feast of Saint Antony at the St. Antony’s church in Chettikkad near Paravur. The special cake was made on the 824th birth anniversary of Saint Antony.
The cake which costed more that Rs 3 lakh was offered by Vincent Payyappilly, a native of Thrissur. Image of the Saint Antony, symbol of Saint Antony’s relic, Bible, miraculous well and the model of the church were created on the cake with edible items. People behind the making of cake were experts from Charles Bakery in Irinjalakkuda.
On Tuesday evening, Mosingnor Antony Kurinshinkal blessed the cake. As part of the feast, 824 candles were lighted around the cake. Cake was cut and distributed among devotees.
