75-kg pen made by school students enters Guinness Book of World Records
Kozhikode: A giant pen made by a group of school students has found place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The pen has a length of 3 metres and weights 75 kilograms. The students of Edupark’s Hillview International School at Koodathai in Thamarassery here made the giant pen during the lockdown.
PVC pipes, GI pipe, wood, sponge and other materials were used to make the pen. One litre of ink can be filled in the refill. Fifteen students worked hard for one month to complete the work. The pen can be disassembled.
School principal Susan Mathew said in a press meet that the children made the pen in order to convey the importance of learning, writing and reading and also to improve the creative skills.
The giant pen was the idea of students. It will be kept in the school museum. Next they are aiming to make a model of helicopter. School administrator Elsy Mathew, students T K Abhina and N C Jihana also attended the press meet.
