3 weddings on single day; Chinnar turns wedding hotspot
Idukki: Chinnar in Idukki district is a hotspot for both Kerala and Tamil Nadu as far as inter-state weddings are concerned. Since people are not allowed to move freely due to the COVID pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, most inter-state weddings take place at the border here.
Three couples got married here on Wednesday where all three brides were from Kerala and grooms from Tamil Nadu. The weddings were conducted adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols. Although the couples belonged to different religious groups, they exchanged garlands after tying the knot. Except for the bride and the groom, no one else was allowed to cross the border. Both wedding parties were made to stay at a safe distance on respective state land.
Kanthalloor KHOs Arun KS, Ramya Suresh, Marayur Panchayat secretary Soni Mathew, Rogin Augustin, PA Sebastian and Arun C of Chinnar excise check post were present at the functions giving necessary instructions.
